Exploring the Edges of the Empire

Escape from Mos Shutta
EotE Beginner Game

On the desert world of Tatooine, a group of renegades have found themselves on the run from the local crime boss, TEEMO THE HUTT. Trapped in Mos Shutta, the renegades decide to steal a freighter from one of Teemo’s associates and flee.

After escaping from Teemo’s palace, the renegades run in to a local cantina, owned by Yelon the Devaronian. A brawl ensues when four Gamorrean thugs, sent by Teemo, pursue them into The Oasis (the cantina’s name). The Gamorreans are dispatched but The Oasis is shot up in the process. Likewise, Yelon catches Eh attempting to steal whiskey, which further angers Yelon. The PC’s should tread carefully in The Oasis in the future.

The renegade party then heads to Vorn’s Junk Shop and persuades Vorn to sell them his only Hypermatter Reactor Initiator. Vorn agrees because he has heard of Fix’s father and believes the PCs are helping Trex repair his ship. Eh proceeds to wander around the shop, breaking an important droid component, costing the PC’s extra money.

The PCs proceed to the Spaceport Control where ibsk, because of his previous work in the region, convinces Overseer Brynn (who he has communicated with before) to unlock the docking clamps on the Krayt Fang, Trex’s YT-1300 light freighter.

On the way to the docking bay, two groups of Storm Troopers spot the renegade group. It is unclear why the Storm Troopers where pursuing the renegades in the first place; their beef was with Teemo not the Empire. Eh has the brilliant idea to shoot at the main water tower in town. This does not have any effect on the tower but does cause significant commotion, allowing the PC’s to escape undetected.

At the Aurek Landing Bay, the PC’s encounter Trex. They show him the part and attempt to gain access to install it. Trex, seeing straight through their deception, orders his droids to apprehend them. A large shootout ensues!

Kay-Dee shoots a pair of fuel tanks near some droids igniting them, destroying the droid pair, and causing minor hull damage to the Krayt Fang. ibsk does not fair so well and is shoot in the left leg by a security droid crippling his Mon Calimari frame. Luckly, Fix is able to assist in medical treatment and bandage the leg appropriately, preventing any long term injury. Eh skillfully destroys the other droids with his Carbine.

Kay-Dee then charges up the boarding ramp to engage Trex only to be disarmed by a well placed blaster bolt. Not hindered, the droid runs up to Trex and detonates a stun grenade. Trex, very strained by this, retreats into the engineering bay and cripples Kay Dee in the right leg with a well placed blaster bolt (apparently, Trex is an excellent shot, something the PC’s did not consider prior to the engagement).

Finally, Fix and Eh run up the ramp and deal the final blow to Trex before ibsk assumed control of the cockpit. At just this moment, a group of 4-6 Storm Troopers charge into the hanger and begin setting up large anti-ship guns. ibsk, sensing the danger, lifts off and navigates the ship out of the bay into the Tatooine atmosphere.

Long Arm of the Hutt

The smugglers have successfully left the surface of Tatooine in their newly acquired YT-1300 the Krayt Fang. Blasting off to escape a squad of heavily armed Storm Troopers, the adventures encountered two squads of TIE fighters in orbit around Tatooine.

The adventurers quickly took their positions aboard the unexplored ship. Fix quick fixed Kay-Dee’s crippled droid leg and the HRMI. Kay-Dee and Eh manned the two laser batteries, and ibsk navigated the ship in orbit.

After suffering severe damage, and despite some pretty poor Gunnery skills, let’s be honest, it was Kay-Dee, the Krayt Fang was able to destroy most of the TIEs and escape the remaining ones. No sooner had the party jumped to Hyperspace when their ship dropped out of FTL travel on the edge of the Tatooine system.

As this was happening, the party encountered another adventurer on board! What are the chances! Miko, a vicious Gank Soldier was also captured by Trex and was bound on the ship before escaping and encountering Trex’s body and her compatriots. Introductions were brief but helpful.

Music blaring, sirens sounding, pungent odors abounding, the Krayt Fang was in bad shape. ibsk was able to shut off the music and sirens as well as determine the ship had a homing beacon on its hull, planted by Teemo’s associates no less. Kay-Dee made an effort to spacewalk to the beacon but was not able to get a good grip on the hull of the ship.

Eh was able to locate the source of the stench, one of the cargo holds, but was not able to find the hidden wookie pelts in a smuggling compartment before he managed to accidentally lock himself in the hold. Unbeknownst to any of the other adventurers, Eh did acquire some unknown pendant.

Miko lead the adventurers to another captive on the ship, an older Twi’lek, B’ura B’an. Captured by Trex on Ryloth, he angered Trex’s associates, perhaps Teemo, by organizing other Twi’leks to stand up to the outside intervention in their Ryll mines at New Meen. Seeking the groups assistance, the party decided to head to Ryloth to drop off B’ura B’an, get their ship repaired and see what help he needs.

No sooner had the Krayt Fang drop out of Hyperspace at Ryloth when it was attacked by an unknown Dunelizard star fighter. With much more success, the adventurers were able to down this vessel and dock safely at Nabat, a city on Ryloth near the mines of New Meen.

Heading to meet B’ura B’an’s contacts, all but ibsk have venured into Nabat. ibsk, meanwhile, has stayed behind to work on Astromech droid components located by Miko in a makeshift workshop and oversee the ship repairs on the Krayt Fang.

The Mines of New Meen
The Plight of the Twi'leks

The PC’s begin this adventure in Nabat, Ryloth, a moderately sized but poor spaceport city. B’ura B’an leads the group to his fellow freedom fighters were the PC’s rest. Kay-Dee has a programming issue and shuts down for a day. ibsk chooses to stay behind on the Krayt Fang and oversee the repairs. He manages to complete work on the Astromech Droid that was in pieces on the Krayt Fang.

The other three adventurers, Miko, Fix, and Eh are asked by Nyn, a female Twi’lek who is a leader in the Free and Independent Ryloth movement to escort B’ura B’an back to his mining village New Meen. New Meen is a small, but profitable mine that has fallen on hard times, mainly due to outside influence. Nyn promises the PC’s a cut of the mines Ryll in return for solving any issues that arise there.

The adventurers agree and set out the following morning towards New Meen by landspeeder. After a bumpy ride through the treacherous terrain, the speeder containing Eh, Miko, Fix, and B’ura is shot mid-flight by a Gand with a Blaster Rifle. Fix, the least agile and strong of the group, is thrown from the speeder and suffers significant wounds.

The Gand and two of his allies identify themselves as Imperial Agents and demand that the group surrender. The PC’s agree to lay down their weapons only to pick them up as the two other bounty hunters move in to bind them. A firefight ensues!

Both Eh and Miko score solid hits on the two bounty hunters who tried to bind them. They kill one of them and manage to disarm the other by hitting his Heavy Blaster Pistol with their Carbines. The Gand is also a good shot, even from long range, and hits Eh, winding him in the process. This forces Miko to make a valiant, lone, charge towards the Gand in his entrenched position. She successful crosses the distance and kills him without suffering serious injury. Fix is about to charge when the killing blow is dealt.

The lone bounty hunter still alive, retreats, unbeknownst to him, into a Lylek den. The Lylek stirs and the PC’s coerce him into surrendering before he is eaten alive. He leads the PCs to their speeder as well as informs them that Thwheek relayed the location of the group for ambush.

After looting the bodies, Fix repairs the landspeeder. The party, with the captive arrive in New Meen to a warm welcome. They are quickly informed that Angu Drombb has been looting, committing arson, and making mining unsafe in New Meen. Angu appears to be working for Teemo and is making life very difficult for the struggling miners.

The PC’s decide to alleviate this situation. Miko is sent in to scout Angu’s camp. Before being thrown out, she learns there are eight Aqualish thugs guarding this primitive camp. Hatching a plan to blow up the Cantina with Angu and most of the thugs inside, the PC’s retrieve mining explosive and two Twi’lek volunteers from New Meen.

The PC’s then attempt to sneak back to the Cantina without being seen to plant the explosives and steal two idle speeders. Needless to say, this does not go as planned; they are almost spotted by the Aqualish guards. However, the PC’s use the Twi’leks as a distraction (who do get injured in the process) and Miko manages, after an unsuccessful attempt to plan the charges, throw them on to the roof of the Cantina and run. Fix also manages to hot-wire a speeder, and picks up Eh and Miko in preparation for a quick get-away.

In a stroke of luck, the charges go off, leveling the building and killing everyone near by, Angu and his thugs included. The PC’s mop up the rest of the Aqualish thugs and provide medical attention to the wounded Twi’leks. They search Angu’s office and learn that Thwheek has been communicating with Angu about an individual named Sivor.

Returning to New Meen as victors, B’ura B’an pledges to give the PC’s a cut of the Ryll mine production and informs them that their captive has escaped! The captive, not a smart man, returns to the Lylek den and proceeds to be eaten by the beast.

The PC’s return to Nabat, richer, better equipped, with a few speeders!

Teemo's Palace
The Disaster Infiltration

In this adventure, the PC’s attempted to break in to Teemo’s palace, figure out a way to eliminate the bounty on their heads, and steal an Ardos Disk (per Ota’s request). Their plan failed miserably.

After returning from New Meen, the PC’s were introduced to Ota. The Bothan told the PC’s that his employer wanted an Ardos Disk that Teemo had. He also showed the PC’s a holomessage of Teemo placing a 50000 Credit bounty on the parties head. Not a good sign!

The PC’s agreed to help Ota, and hopefully resolve the bounty issue at the same time. Ota informed them of a Geonosian arms dealer who hired a freighter to deliver some weapons to Teemo that was leaving from a local landing bay.

The group talking with Ota met with ibsk while Eh went back to the Krayt Fang and slept off his drunkenness with the new R3-P41 unit that ibsk completed. ibsk, Fix, Kay-Dee, and Miko were able to convince Duke Piddock, the Genosian to allow them access to the freighter by informing him of Sivor’s fate and some of Teemo’s other operations. Very upset by these revelations, Piddock was happy to help the PC’s in their mission against the Hutt.

The freighter, the Lucky Guess, was piloted by Wex and Orpa Vio. They flew, without incident to Mos Shutta, leaving just in time to evade another group of bounty hunters searching for the PC’s. Investigating the cargo on the Lucky Guess, the PC’s discovered illegal B1 Battle Droid parts and schematics. Fix managed to rewire one of the droids to crazily attack anything and everything nearby once it is powered on.

Upon landing, Fix, Kay-Dee, and Miko hid in cargo containers while ibsk attempted to disguise himself. Surprisingly, the first group of Gamorreans sent to unload the cargo recognized ibsk as the Mon Calamari with the large bounty on his head. A firefight ensued where all the PC’s revealed their locations but were able to subdue the three Gamorreans.

However, when the Gamorreans did not report in, suspicion was raised and the PC’s encountered a larger party of bounty hunters and Gamorreans on the landing pad. Here, things turned ugly. One by one, the PC’s were incapacitated until in a last ditch effort, Fix threw a Thermal Detonator in the Workshop, which was attached to the Landing Pad. This killed a large group of Teemo’s henchmen but also incapacitated Fix.

ibsk attempted to flee on a Swoop Bike that was near by but the bike was blown up by Teemo’s laser cannon before he could escape. This sent ibsk flying, knocking him out on impact.

During this period, Miko kept sending and receiving mysterious messages…

Fix woke up in the Gladiator Cells in Teemo’s Palace, bound, next to his compatriots, who were still unconscious. He also noticed a male Gank and female Human in another cell.

Meanwhile, Eh and P41 are flying towards Mos Shutta unaware of the danger that awaits them!

Escaping Teemo's Grasp
Breaking Out of Captivity

The PC’s wake up in Teemo’s Gladiator Cells, held along side a Human female and Gank male. Within minutes of waking up, Fix and ibsk remove the binders from themselves and those around them. The human female, clearly shy, scared, and intimidated by Kay-Dee, does not speak up and follows the PC’s through their prison break.

The Gank on the other hand acts differently. Clearly showing signs of recognizing Miko, he agrees to help the PC"s escape the prison, provides a key to the Gladiator Cells everyone is being held, and wants to be taken to the Chardaan system. The Gank, named Tarik, then kills the Gamorrean guard in the room with relative ease.

Miko and Tarik attempt to sneak into the main entryway but Tarik is spotted in the process. A fight ensues! The pair of Ganks manage to dispatch the pair of Gamorreans guarding the entry way but not before Tarik suffers some wounds and Miko loses her left arm to a well placed Vibro-Ax cleave.

The rest of the PC’s, along with the unknown woman sneak into Teemo’s Communication Hub. At IG-88’s request, Fix disables the Protocol droid working in the Hub rather then destroying him.

Meanwhile, Eh has arrive at Mos Shutta. He goes to a local trade shop to buy explosives but is instead sent by Re’lan to meet a black market weapons dealer in the Shanty town. He finds the dealer and purchases some grenades to aid in the escape.

In the Hub, ibsk and Fix manage to hack the computers, transfer 88000 Credits to their accounts (out of Teemo’s), and open a hidden safe containing two Ardos Disks. Meanwhile, armed guards are surrounding the Hub. Kay-Dee and Miko attempt to clear an exit route. Kay-Dee rushs to two guards and is incapacitated. Miko eliminates the guards and revives Kay-Dee. Fix manages to look the doors to the hub but the Gamorreans just cut their way through with Vibro-Ax’s.

Eh attempts to sneak onto the landing pad and even though he is spotted initially, a hasty retreat gets him out of trouble. Once the guards are occupied with the fight inside, he manages to get to the pad and deactivate the Laser Cannon. P41 then lands the Krayt Fang which Eh boards and mans a turret.

Using the turret’s firepower, Eh attempts to kill Teemo. His first shots are way off bases and collapse the doorway by the landing pad. After firing multiple more shots into the rubble, Eh manages to clear the doorway again. In response, Thwheek heads outside in an attempt to board the ship. P41 successfully lifts off while Eh kills Thwheek.

Eh then returns to firing at Teemo and manages to kill him but overload the lower turret in the process. With Teemo dead, most of the guards run and the party is able to escape to the landing pad with much resistance.

As they are leaving, they notices dozens of Storm Troopers attempting to enter Teemo’s palace. It seems Teemo called for backup…

The party flies over Mos Shutta with Tarik and the Unknown Woman on board. They are richer, have lowered their Obligation, obtained the Ardos Disks, and suffered serious injuries.
